Yes, they are legit.
I bought my bike off of www (dot) crashedtoys (dot) com.
They are based in Stillwater MN, and I had a very easy time working with them.
The bad things about these auctions include not exactly knowing what you’re going to get. Not knowing every detail about damage, or history of the bike. I found that mine had never had it’s oil changed. If you’re not mechanically included, or don’t have attention for detail, it isn’t a wise idea to purchase a wrecked bike. One hidden ***** in the frame can easily cost someone’s life.
The good things include getting a great deal on a bike. Some of them are in rideable condition, and these sites don’t have the same attention as auction sites like ebay. The chances of you winning an auction are higher, and the prices you pay will be lower.
Salvage bikes may cause you some issues in getting titles cleared, but it depends on the state, and the bike’s history. Steer clear of bikes that are “theft recovery” as they can cause problems down the line.
I have no personal experience with the site you listed, but do a little checking around, and research their location/services. Look for reviews if possible; almost every website will have an area where people can post their opinions of them.
Good luck!
Hi Emily
Is easier to find bad comments than good ones so if you haven’t find any comment at all that’s actually good.
The site is legit, you just need to be careful in your purchase decision, read the terms of service, try to get as much information as possible of the vehicle and its title, show the pictures to someone that knows about bikes, request an inspection if possible and check with your local DMV for information about the title and the procedure to rebuild it and if you have any question about how the purchasing process works just check the FAQs or contact Customer Service for more information before buying.
